Are You Living in a Computer Simulation?

This one is from Nick Bostrom at Oxford. Haven’t really read everything on his site so far but his line of thinking is a lot like Chalmer’s views on the if we are living in a matrix. I remember reading him a lot during the Cognitive Science course back at FAST but haven’t really kept up with it afterwards. Here’s a small interview of Chalmer which mentions some of his ideas as well as his papers. He also mentions something about the Neural Correlates of Consciousness and whether they exist or not.
The funny thing is that many religions already have this idea of this ‘material’ world being nothing but a facade of a higher dimension and a way point in the whole spiritual adventure, a part of which we call life. So as we travel from the ‘nasut’ to ‘hahut’, this plane of our existence might just be a computational simulation at the quantum level.

Now here’s a funny problem in a Text to Speech system (TTS). Suzanne M. Malone was pronounced as Suzanne the 1000th Malone since M=1000 in roman representation. Something worth looking into when I have time to spare.
I hope this doesn’t mean that LAMP would later on be LAME (E as in Enterprise Java)
This doesn’t show how to draw a gun or how to draw blood. Heh.
(Comments like this require an intrinsic chuss factor but can also be an effect of too much linguistics. In my case, its both)
